Education
From 1947 to 1948, den Bergh attended attended Leiden University in the Netherlands, from there he went to Princeton University on a scholarship where he obtained his A.B.
He continued his education in the USA and Germany, his first position was at at Ohio State University as assistant professor of physics and astronomy.
In 1958 he moved to Toronto where he spent the next 19 years teaching astronomy at the University of Toronto while working at an observatory, specifically the David Dunlap Observatory which houses the largest optical telescope in Canada. [5]
